<h3>What is Starchain Gazer?</h3>

Indeed, in today’s market, we address gamers or users by a segregation “<strong>Web2</strong> or <strong>Web3”</strong>. It is essential to remember that they are both gamers, and if there’s segregation, it means the product itself was built to differentiate between the two. Our belief is they should have the same experience with a specific <strong>ONBOARDING</strong> User Experience. Only a very small percentage of gamers have asked themselves what’s the tech stack behind League of Legends, Fortnite, Apex, or else. The only question they seek to answer is, “Will this game provides me with enough thrill, enough excitement to disconnect from the outside world and truly enjoy a gaming session. Starchain Gazer’s essence is to create games focusing on providing such a feeling to gamers.</p>
<h3>Who is behind this web3 game studio company?</h3>

<h3>What are we building?</h3>

It is, however, a Massively Multiplayer Action RPG game. With a cross-platform logic, our game is both mobile &amp; desktop. The onboarding pillars are threefold:</p>
<ol>
<li>No entry fees and a true free-to-play title.</li>
<li>Fair in-game economics &amp; tokenomics, meaning no pay-to-win mechanics.</li>
<li>No blockchain knowledge is required.</li>
</ol>
<p><strong>Game plot:</strong> Players embrace a “Time Runner” career in a “uchronic” Multiverse composed of an infinite number of versions of planet Earth. Each alternate Earth possesses its own history, geography, and inhabitants. Time Runners explore sectors of the Multiverse and scout planets to find and exploit valuable Time resources for powerful factions &amp; corporations. In this quest, they are helped by mighty inhabitants of the Multiverse called “Uchronians”. Uchronians live in various parts of the Multiverse, and each one has followed a different course of history. For example, a Roman empire mastering energy fields, Prehistoric tribes having developed firearms, or a Medieval Cyber World War, etc. All are potential historic outcomes occurring in their own world. Being powerful units, Uchronians are the only characters who can explore alternate eras to collect rare and desirable Artifacts. Whether discovering uncharted alternate Earths, exploiting and scavenging unstable temporal resources, or conquering territories from rival factions, the journey of a Time Runner is not an easy ride.</p>

<p>Those are our targets:</p>
<p><strong>June 2023 - Private alpha:</strong> The private alpha will be restricted to a specific number of players. The goal is to build qualitative user data with a pool of 100 to 150 gamers selected to answer our four persona user types. A Test &amp; Learn with in-depth discussions with the private alpha testers will enable us to balance the game precisely and alter or improve a few in-game features. A number of testers will be selected from our community of followers.</p>
<p><strong>August 2023 - Public Demo &amp; Testnet Deployment: </strong>It will serve multiple purposes. First, we want to confirm hypotheses built on qualitative data with quantitative data analysis. We will leverage the public demo to officially launch our first NFT collection instantly usable within the demo. This testnet deployment will help us build momentum for the official launch.</p>
<p><strong>November 2023 - Official game launch:</strong></p>

<p>Our DNA is to be as user-centric as possible at every stage of the production process. Even before the creation of Starchain Gazer, we have interviewed more than 150 gamers around the world. We wanted to understand a few things such as:</p>
<ul>
<li>Why blockchain is interesting or the opposite?</li>
<li>How do they read a white paper? What is important to them?</li>
<li>What are the essentials elements they could flag as Red or Green flags in a token economy?</li>
<li>What are the main pain points with web3 games?</li>
<li>What games genre would they have liked to play and why?</li>
<li>What is the most seamless DeFi features integrated within a game they experienced?</li>
<li>What is the “trigger” to start playing and farming a game?</li>
</ul>
<p>Our core strategy is to always challenge our work with key strategic stakeholders. Confronting our work with our targeted users will always maximize our chances of having a successful market fit when launching the game.</p>
<p>In our next article, we will reveal the first user playtest we did (and is currently ongoing) in collaboration with <a href="https://twitter.com/MVP_Guild">MVP</a>. The data we have accumulated during this playtest will serve as a leveling up prior to a 10-month production cycle.</p>

<p>Following this user playtest, we will improve a few systems and create a few new ones. In addition, we have a more accurate knowledge of how to balance specific combat systems to provide more excitement and fun. Our next big milestone is to sharpen and strengthen the MMO game logic and the eSports scene of the game. A panel of eSports champions, team owners, and ex-professional players are participating in this specific work scope. The production roadmap will be adapted, adjusted, and publicly communicated to all of you soon.</p>

<p>You’ve probably heard that the web3 revolution has arrived, and the world is forever changed. But is this really what’s happening? Or is it being overhyped by the media? The truth is we are far from changing the world, but there are milestones to reach before making it happen. And guess what? Starchain Gazer is trying hard to pave the way toward making this dream a reality. Let’s dive into how the gaming industry can help materialize this so-called web3 revolution.</p>
<h3>What will it take for the real web3 revolution to take place?</h3>
<p>There are some well-known obstacles on the path leading to mass adoption of the web3 technologies. Until we break them, this evolution remains a distant dream. The industry will only transition if:</p>
<h3>1. Web3 creators focus on lowering technical blockchain barriers</h3>
<p>The web3 user experience must be created for everyone. Although blockchain technology is the foundation of the web3 revolution, the vast majority of people are completely laymen in its concepts or even in its necessity.</p>
<p>We need to lower any barrier that keeps gamers from playing. Sure, user acquisition is already a complex challenge. But the blockchain word adds a barrier of complexity that is very hard to overcome autonomously without previous knowledge of the area.</p>
<p>The first seconds of experiencing any kind of application, platform, or game are crucial, which is why our product designers should focus singularly on letting users feel the excitement of the game. That is, without encountering pain points such as “What is a wallet?” or “Why should I be responsible for the security of my private key?”</p>

<h3>2. Projects stop targeting only crypto native users</h3>

Since the very concept of web3 gives people so much power, we shouldn’t be the ones to impose limits on who can and cannot have access to it. The web3 is supposed to help close the gap, not widen it.</p>
<p>If blockchain technologies want to reach massive adoption, our acquisition strategy should act as such. Instead of touching only a portion of the gaming community, why not do the logical thing and embrace all potential users?</p>
<h3>3. Token economics and game design are complex science topics</h3>
<p>Game economies have a lot to gain from blockchain technology, bringing benefits not only to the game but mainly to the players. However, it adds an entire layer of complexity that alters the conception of the game design and experience. To succeed in building harmony between token economics and the game concept, here is what the design needs to work hand-in-hand and synchronously:</p>

<li>In-Game Economics</li>
<li>Tokenomics &amp; Web3 Architecture</li>
</ul>
<p>Token economics must be built through modelization, economics, and financial engineering. An economy is a living and ever-changing system. By scientifically approaching the decisions that must be made, a project can protect its user base by putting in place an optimized system driving economic growth.</p>
<h3>Why Web2 games will seduce fewer and fewer gamers over time</h3>
<p>As every industry evolves through technological advancement, traditional games are facing a slow but logical transition to the world of Web3. But to understand the reasons why blockchain gaming is gaining space, we need to look back at the Web2 games’ biggest limitations:</p>
<h3>The games’ ecosystems are under the editors’ control</h3>
<p>The entire game’s ecosystem is bound to what the editors’ strategy decides. The game communities are monetized once the games are launched and are also bound to end if the game’s services retire.</p>
<p>Currently, the vast majority of games still do not include their communities enough, even though they are the ones creating the most value for studios. We hope to see this doomed to the past. The game communities should be included in the evolution of game strategies, and we insist that Starchain Gazer upholds this vision.</p>
<h3>Game immersion and User-Generated content is limited</h3>
<p>With Web2, the gameplay is also limited to game sessions. As much as users want to dedicate themselves deeply to a game universe and create powerful User-Generated Content (UGC), that universe is finite. It belongs to the game alone and nowhere else. It cannot be expanded to the real world.</p>
<p>Even the most creative and complex skins and mods are bound to the game studio, with no ownership or even great recognition to the actual creator. If they decide to simply erase the skins you’ve purchased or invested time and funds in, that’s it. You’ve wasted your money on an asset that was never truly yours.</p>
<h3>There are no revenue streams for the community</h3>

<p>The redistribution of revenue streams is one of the most promising points that Web3 makes possible in the gaming industry.</p>
<p>You might ask yourself how? The merging of in-game economics and tokenomics enable the editor to create sinks collecting fees based on tokenized in-game assets. It is a very hard task to create a fair system with a non-pay-to-win logic. It means that loyal players and influencers can finally take a shared portion of the value they helped build in the game. Stakeholders united around what should be a unified Governance &amp; Utility token, as well as core gameplay assets tokenized.</p>
<h3>How Starchain Gazer’s vision unites Web3 applications with gaming</h3>
<p>As you may already know, Starchain Gazer is on a mission to make blockchain gaming mainstream. We believe that GameFi can help the Gaming Industry to shift to a participative, transparent, and broader experience.</p>
<p>We are aware, however, of the challenges of this quest. The web3 revolution we fight for isn’t going to happen if we don’t make it universal.</p>
<p>Our team will be facing the rejection of change from traditional gaming communities and Web 2.0 investors, the skepticism of cryptocurrency concepts, and our tokenomics. But we are not afraid of challenges that could only motivate us to contribute toward making a meaningful change.</p>
<p>Because we understand very well the faults of both web2 and web3 games so far, and also how new technologies can improve the gaming scenario, we feel more confident than ever that our mission is fair and necessary.</p>

This is a significant achievement that will bring many benefits to our strategy and trajectory. We were chosen from a pool of incredibly promising projects and look forward to collaborating with Ubisoft and benefiting from their expertise to continue scaling our business.</p>

<h3>Starchain Gazer’s next steps</h3>
<p>As for now, Starchain Gazer’s entire team is looking forward to starting working through the incubation workshops and continuing our project with Ubisoft’s support.</p>
<p>We will be having our next funding round soon and also plan to continue expanding our team with more top-notch talents:</p>

<li>Game artists (2D and 3D);</li>
<li>Unity developers;</li>
<li>Marketing.</li>
</ul>
<p>That also leads us to keep moving forward in our Roadmap. As we are currently working on the production of our first game, we will continue discussing it with both crypto and traditional gamers, guild leaders, game designers, and many other key actors in the industry.</p>
